Medical Learning Hub Is Now Connected With The Francophone Africa Telemedicine Network RAFT
Dakar, 8 June 2020: Medical Learning Hub is now connected with the Francophone Africa Telemedicine Network (RAFT, which is short for its French name, Réseau en Afrique Francophone pour la Télémédecine (RAFT). RAFT is a telemedicine network connecting hundreds of healthcare professionals across Africa and beyond. The network support isolated medical and technical professionals who are outside the reach of well-equipped hospitals, enabling them to maintain their expertise and gain new skills.
This new two-way linkage enables both RAFT and Medical Learning Hub to provide an expanded range of interactive course offerings in French. Medical Learning Hub and all its users will benefit from being connected to the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for eHealth and Telemedicine based at Geneva University Hospital. RAFT is directed in Mali by Tech Care for All partner Professor Cheick Oumar Bagayoko, MD, PhD. Prof. Bagayoko, an informatics specialist, leads the Centre d'Expertise et de Recherche en Télémédecine et E-santé (Center of Expertise and Research in Telemedicine) in Bamako, Mali and holds appointments at University of Bamako and University of Geneva.
